Food prices have risen an unprecedented 40% in the last year and many nations may be unable to cope, the agency says. It is calling for help for farmers in poor countries to buy seeds and fertiliser, and for a review of the impact of bio-fuels on food production.
The FAO says 37 countries face food crises due to conflict and disaster. Serious food crises occur when people cannot get enough nutritious food to eat. Buying food locally means that the locally economy is supported. Bangladesh was affected by cyclone sidor in December 15 Th 2007. now Myanmar (Burma) is affected by cyclone nargis. many people is dying there.But cyclone is not the only reason for food crises.There are so many reason for food crises such as oil price,changing diet,some warfare are also causes for crises.
